Checking out the physical environment in which you are to present can save you a lot of hassle later on.

• Set up your equipment before the audience arrives  and ensure your visuals can be seen from all parts of  the room.

• Find light switches and know how they should be set  whilst visuals are being shown.

• Determine where you will stand or walk. Will you be  in the way?

• Carry back ups for equipment - spare bulbs,  batteries, dry markers etc. Bring a long extension  leads.

Finally - take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy yourself - and remember you audience wants you to do well!
